What Matter(s) Around Galaxies 2022 conference

Members of the Cosmic Structure group in the Astrophysics Unit will be hosting an international conference during the month of September 2022 in the Italian Alps. Over 120 delegates are confirmed to join the week-long meeting to discuss the importance of the so-called circumgalactic medium in shaping galaxy evolution and its relationship with the wider environment. Through talks and discussions, attendees will address key open questions on the interplay between the circumgalactic medium and galaxies as a function of redshift, how the galaxy environment influences the properties and the evolution of the gas around galaxies, and the impact of the circumgalactic medium and surrounding environment on the future activity of galaxies.
